Spencer Sévon Alton James Bartee departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was born in Farmville, Virginia on December 27, 1994 to Patricia (Jones) Adams of Richmond, Virginia, and Spencer Bartee of Dillwyn, Virginia. A Gentle Giant with a heart of serving and helping others is what he was known for. His smile and laughter melted the heart of all those he encountered.
He was educated up until his Junior Year of High School in the Prince Edward County Public School System, and graduated from Armstrong High School in Richmond, Virginia. At an early age Spencer dedicated his life to the Lord and became a member of Zion Baptist Church. Sévon, as he was known by most of his life, remained devoted to his faith in Christ. Sévon may not have attended a Brick and Mortar Church regularly, yet his Spiritual Beliefs and Trust in GOD remained with him throughout his journey in Life. John 11:35-Jesus Wept, was his favorite Bible Scripture. He would say if Jesus Wept then so can I.
Becoming a father changed his life and he devoted countless hours to his Son, their bond was astronomical. Spending time with his family and friends was very important to him. Playing semi-pro was a passion he held dearly until injuries would not allow him to continue his passion. Spencer was employed by several State Agencies after he graduated High School and at his time of death was working for the United States Postal Service in Sandston, Virginia and a Mentor for the Boys to Men after school program at MLK Middle School in Richmond, VA.
Sevon was preceded in death by his grandparents Dorothy and Jesse Jones (M) of Farmville, Virginia; his Great- Grandfather David W. Bartee (P) of Dillwyn, Virginia; a son Sihaj Bartee of Richmond, Virginia; and a niece Ari ’Elle Hatcher of Richmon
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: His mother, Patricia Adams of Richmond VA; father, Spencer Bartee, of Dillwyn VA; one son, Shiine Bartee of Richmond, VA; a Grandmother Roberta Vaughn of Dillwyn, VA; four sisters, Tamika and Tanay Jones of Richmond, Virginia; Takiera Jones of VA; and Tomeka Jackson of Dillwyn, VA; 4 nieces and one nephew; Five aunts and one Uncle; a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers.
Spencer also leaves to cherish a devoted Girlfriend and Mother to his sons Monteisha Richardson of Richmond, VA. Best Friends Javonte Williams, Marcus Archer, Anthony Brockenbrough, Tonee Morton, and Christopher Smith.
