Sarita Ann Banks

Sarita Ann Banks was born April 19, 1980, to the late John D. and Shirley Ann Banks. Her birth signified the beginning of Sarita’s life journey. Though it was a long and challenging journey, Sarita traveled with a heart full of loving-kindness and steadfast faith in God. On December 21, 2021, Sarita entered into eternal rest at Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville, VA.

Sarita was educated in Buckingham County Public Schools in Buckingham, Virginia. She was raised in a Christian home and joined New Hope Baptist Church at an early age. Sarita was an excellent cook and would do anything for her family and friends.

Sarita physically left on December 21, 2021, but the essence of who and what she was will remain with all of us. She was preceded in death by her father, John Banks, mother Shirley Ann Lewis, and brothers David, Terry, Nelson, Glenn Banks, and Ronald Lewis. 

Sarita's departure left a void in the lives of her step-father Richard Lewis ( Lucille) of Fluvanna, VA, brothers John, Troy, Quincy Banks of Arvonia, VA and Richard Lewis Jr. (Tia) of Richmond, VA; nephews, Jeonte Banks, Nelson Ray Banks Jr., and Ronald Lewis Jr.; nieces, Sherice Woodson and Naomi Lewis; great-nieces Londyn Banks, and Aubree Banks, aunts Peggy Lee (Howard), Christine Smith, Irene Rollins, Eloise Gregory, and Christine Davis; God-sisters Charlotte James of New Canton, VA, Sylvia Holman of New Canton, VA, Laverne Lee of New Canton, VA, and Brenda Bowles of New Canton, VA. Two God-daughters, Mylasia Thompson and Londyn, a devoted boyfriend, Jerel Quarles, and a host of family members and friends.
