Lilly Pearl Gregory was born July 20, 1944, to the late Pearl Daisy Gregory. She quietly entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2023, at the age of 79 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Lilly was raised in Buckingham, VA and educated in the Buckingham County School system. She was baptized at Baptist Union Baptist Church at an early age and later moved to Richmond, VA where she did domestic work. Later in life she moved to Washington, DC where she resided until her passing. She was an active member of Mount Salvation Baptist Church in Arlington, VA until her health started to decline. Lilly was known by many and she kept in touch with her family on a regular basis. She was our family tree. She had the memory of an elephant. She would often share stories from the past like it was yesterday. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and had no problem making it known. Lilly loved baking. Her 7- up, marble, and apple pound cakes were always requested by her family and friends. Lilly was preceded in death by her mother Pearl Gregory; four siblings, Howard Gregory, Dorothy Dabney, Floyd Gregory, and Allen Gregory. She leaves to cherish her sons Alton Gregory of Upper Marlboro, Md, and Raymal Gregory of Washington, DC. One granddaughter, Tiana Rollerson. Two sisters, Ruby Johnson (Andrew) and Alice Palmer, both of New Canton, VA; two sisters-in-laws, Helen Gregory of Washington, DC and Paulette Gregory of Elkin, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. Lilly's presence will be missed throughout her family and friends; however, she leaves many fond memories.
