Joseph Franklin Woodson, born on December 21, 1952 to the late Joseph & Hattie Woodson, in New Canton, Virginia went home peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday February 26,2023 At The Heritage Hall, in Dillwyn, Virginia.
Joseph, affectionately known as “Uncle Frank” joined the Third Liberty Baptist Church, at an early age, and remained a member until his health began to decline. He was employed all across the east coast, doing “hard man's work”. He was an indefinite family man. He always cared for his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing many family activities, driving, and RIDING, especially with his nephew, Travis “Pigg” Woodson, Jr. He also loved playing cards with his family such as, poker, pluck, my-my, & spades! Uncle Frank had an amazing love for all of his nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Johnny Wayne Jeter; brother, Victory L. Woodson & sister, Annie W. Anderson & other loved ones.
Frank’s memories will be fondly treasured & cherished by his entire family which includes his son, Terrence Jeter, of Washington, DC; five sisters, Barbara W. Richmond, Jean W. Scruggs, & Gail W. Brown (Charles), all of New Canton, Virginia, Hattie W. McClure (Jeffrey), of Bremo Bluff, Virginia & Vivian “Inez” Woodson, of Dillwyn, Virginia; two brothers, Charlie Woodson & Thomas “Michael” Woodson (Teresa), both of New Canton, Virginia; god-sister, Geneva Roseboro, of Albemarle, Virginia; two devoted nieces, Debbie W. Mayo (Timothy), of New Canton, Virginia & Shirley W. James (Willard), of Arvonia, Virginia; devoted nephew, Travis “Pigg” Woodson, Jr, of New Canton, Va; along with a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family & friends
