Janet (Scholz) DeVoss

DeVoss, Janet S, November 13,1944 - May 12, 2022.  Janet was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Janet Scholz, sister Barbara Scholz and son-in-law Tai Bass.  She is survived by her husband Jerry of 37 years, two daughters Amanda S Bass and Barbara B. Orf (John), grandson Nicholas C. Orf, sister Nancy S. Barnes. As well as estranged grandson Christopher K. Orf (Stacey) and his young daughter Rhonda that she never met. Janet was a member of Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, the Junior Womens Club, and a teacher's aide for many years at Holladay Elementary.  She was a longtime supporter of Lakeside Youth Baseball where she watched both grandsons play ball, become umpires and coach alongside Jerry. She was a regular in the stands rooting for all the players even after the boys aged out of playing.  Once they were older, she became more active in the family business, DeVoss Auto Service, manning the desk, making phone calls and many other things. A special thank you to Robert and Rick at the Waylands House for making her last few moments as comfortable as possible. 

 As a sweet reminder of Janet and Jerry meeting at Azalea Bowling Alley a Celebration of Life will be held at River City Roll
