Gone but never forgotten…
Hazel Lynn Ford (Vaughters) Booker was born April 13, 1956. She was reared in Buckingham County, attending Buckingham County Public Schools. Hazel joined Baptist Union Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her health began to fail.
One thing about Hazel Lynn, as she was called by most, she was known for remembering birthdays, she would definitely make it a point to call to give birthday wishes. Those calls will be stored in our memories. She loved being surrounded by family and friends.
Hazel Lynn was the youngest of eight children born to Mattie Ruth and Charlie Cleveland Ford. Preceding her in going home was her brothers Robert and Charles and her sister Hilda. Hazel was also preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Vaughters.
Hazel Lynn’s memories will ever be cherished by her husband Gordon Booker, daughter Kendra Vaughters, son-n-law Rodney Booker and grandchildren: Amiriyah, Amir and Autumn, step-son Gordon, Jr. and eleven step-grandchildren.
Her memories will also be cherished by her sisters: Ernestine Debruhl, Alice Johnson (Paul), JoAnn Jones (Welford), and Dorothy Tyree (Patrick). Sister-in-laws: Hattie Johnson, Arlene Booker and Christy Tyree, Brother-in-laws: John Walter Booker, Jimmy Booker, Clarence Booker and Thomas Booker.
Hazel Lynn had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that hearts are heavy with sorrow at this time. Although she had many friends, three that were near and dear were Christine Anderson, Renata Gough, and Eve Gough.
