Estelle Payne was born September 25, 1923, to the late Bessie and Guy Johnson. She attended school in Fluvanna County. She accepted the Lord at an early age then attended Columbia Baptist Church. She worked as a housekeeper in Richmond, Virginia then later moved to New York to continue her career. She returned home to retire and to be with her loved ones. She soon became a resident of Gold Hill Village home where she loved to greet family and friends with her warm-hearted hugs and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her son, Louis Raleigh Payne, mother and Father Bessie and Guy Johnson, sisters Bernice Jackson, Rosa Harris, Catherine Johnson, and one brother, Henry Johnson.
She leaves to cherish three children, Fermy Payne of Columbia, Virginia, Theresa Bowles of Columbia, VA, and Marshall Payne (Lillian) of Fork Union. One brother, Robert Johnson, Buckingham, Virginia. She loved and was loved by a host of great-great grandchildren, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family.
