Eleanor Lorraine Brown was born May 16, 1945 to the late George and Annie Jones. She departed this life on Friday, March 12, 2021. She attended Carter G. Woodson School and worked as a housekeeper and personal care aide. She gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age and joined Third Liberty Baptist Church. Lorraine was a woman of few words but had a big heart and strong faith. She enjoyed spending time studying God’s word, putting out bird seeds to watch the birds gather in her yard, going to yard sales, doing word search and crossword puzzles, playing BINGO, and spending time with family and friends.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband; Delma, her oldest son; Eugene (Ramona), her oldest daughter; Melinda, 6 sisters (Mary Sue, Edith, Mable, Queen, Hilda, Hazel), 1 brother (George), and her great grand daughter Kehlani.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children; Alonzo, Christopher, Bruce, Becky, Dora (Melvin Gregory), Darrell, Tina, and Eric, her sister; Margaret (Shedrick Young), brothers in law; Charlie Woodson and James Brown, sisters in law; Alberta Brown, Mary Blackmon, Thelma Jordan, 18 grand children, and 12 great grandchildren.
There are a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that meant so much to Lorraine. So many of you called, stopped by to see her, took her out, brought her gifts, and helped her in so many other ways. Your love and kindness made her tough days easier.
