Doris Virginia (Lewis) Eldridge

On December 28, 2022 our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was called home to be with the Lord. She departed this

life at Bon Secour Hospital in Chester, Virginia.  Doris V. Lewis Eldridge was born on November 19, 1936 to the late

Robert Sears and Carrie Lewis. She received her education in the Buckingham School System.

Doris joined Baptist Union Baptist Church at an early age and continued to be a faithful member.

She loved the Lord and would read her bible faithfully every night. She loved to bake cakes and rolls. She also Loved working in her puzzle 6ook.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband James M. Elfridge, daughter Evelyn Eldridge, grandson Charles B. West Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Thelma Eldridge of Chesterfield, VA., Deloris Eldridge, Carolyn West (Charles) of Dillwyn, VA, one son James Curtis Eldridge (Sylvia) of Buckingham, VA, one granddaughter Tamara Eldridge, three grandsons Demetrick West, Sherron Eldridge and Denzel Eldridge, three great-grandsons Tajhmir Gough, Bradyn Eldridge, Bryson Eldridge, one great-granddaughter Bryce Eldridge, one sister Emma Moore of Beckley, West Virginia.

Her bonus children Eugene and Margorie Chambers, Franklin Dove Eldridge, Kennedy West and Roosevelt Dove, her bonus granddaugfter Latoya Chambers. Many nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends Naomi Gause, Jane Allen, Mary A, Stanton, Katie Bolden, Katfleen White and special neighbor James Gregory who always watched out for her, Deaconess Florine Brown her telephone buddy.

Doris will be truly missed but we know she is in a better place. Doris always made sure her family was good. She would always ask do you have food or  say you are welcome to come eat, her door was always open.
