Deborah M. Jones transitioned into the next phase of life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in her home. She was born on January 28, 1956 in Dillwyn, VA to Mansfield and Mary Jones.
Deborah (Debbie) was the baby girl of ten siblings. She joined Baptist Union Baptist Church at an early age, where she was a member for many years and enjoyed being a part of the AV Ministry.
Deborah retired from Buckingham Correctional Center in 2008 after serving 25 years. Not long after, she became a substitute teacher at Buckingham Primary School. She loved to laugh and have a good time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching t.v., taking road trips, and talking on the phone with her siblings.
Three sisters preceded her in transition, Barbara Stanton, Audrey Gregory, and Rosetta Miller.
To cherish her beautiful memories: daughter, De’Borah Terrell (Korey) and son, Quinton Jones; five grandchildren, Imani Holman, Kemi Jones, Nevaeh Ivory, MaRyah Simpson and Ayden Jones; three sisters, Eunice Jones, Jean Dixon (Ronald), and Brenda Jones; three brothers, Harvey Gregory, Latney Jones (Wanda), and Ronald Jones; brother -in- law, Richard Gregory, ten nieces and eight nephews; three best friends, Gloria Johnson, Adelle Johnson, and Joyce Booker; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
