Carol Ann Martin
Born July 1, 1941 - Died March 6, 2021
Carol Ann Martin was called to rest and received her wings on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the University of Virginia, Northridge in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She was born in Albemarle County to the late Fletcher and Blanche Porter Johnson. She became a member of New Fork Baptist Church in Palmyra, Va. at an early age and later attended Bethel Baptist Ministries supporting a long time friend, Rev Thomas Smith. She worked for many years at the Woolfolk Manufacturing Company, Bishop’s Corner as a seamstress, and later the Charlottesville area MACAA until retiring. Carol met many long time friends that she kept close to her heart. As the social butterfly that she was, she continued to remain busy in retirement, keeping herself busy with her church, her love for flea marketing, providing her customers with Avon, and crocheting beautiful afghans for family and friends. Most of all, her love for her family and friends was heartfelt.
Carol Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Vanessa, and her brother Jerry. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Jones, one son, Shannon Martin, Jr. (Karen), three daughters, Charlotte Allen (Kevin), Janet Logan (Charles), and Pamela Jones (Eric), six grand-children Krystal, Courtney, Tia, Erica, Christopher, and Benjamin and three great grandchildren, Kayden, Kylee, and Carmah, two brothers, Paul Johnson (Alice), George Ferguson (Sharon), one sister, Alisa Smith (Terry), her nieces, Karen, Nicole, and Ashley, her nephews, Jerry, Jr., Brian, and Todd, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
