On January 22, 2021 Carey Anderson Maxey, departed this life
At the University Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. He was born on
March 21, 1939 to the late Ruben Ralph and Ella Maxey.
He attended the public schools in Buckingham County. He was baptized and
became a faithful member of the Spreading Oak Baptist church, in Arvonia,
VA. He worked various jobs throughout his life, retiring from Parham

Construction Company.

Carey was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia, great
granddaughter Taheisha Turner, brother Ralph Maxie and sister Hazel V.
Eldridge.
Carey leaves to cherish his fond memories: a loving devoted wife Lovella G.
Maxey of 61 years. Four sons Michael, Carey Jr., Morty, Clifton (Mandy) four
daughters Alice, (Lester), Sylvia, (Wade), Teresa, (Mike) and Tammy. Fifteen
grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one sister Clara B. Maxey, one
devoted aunt Ruth Bank, one devoted cousin Fletcher Banks, four devoted
friends, Mrs. Julia Keys, Eugene Chambers, Gary Smith and Rosemary
Hughes. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Sometimes it’s hard to understand, why certain things must be
But there is a reason for it all. Beyond our power to see,
God give me the strength to face it all, and the courage to bear the blow,
For what it has meant to lose you, Only God will ever know.
